Oh Alex Smoke...I've seriously been obessing over the new album for the past few days now. Albeit, it's gloominess has been rubbing off on me a lot though. That and the stupid weather.

So Daniel Wang, here. Just realized that I also have track another with him, collaborting with Erlend and Kaos, hidden in my iTunes- "Lessons in Love." This track, however is from the Ghostly crew and it's definetly cruising on a hot day with a lemonade slushy, stuck on the freeway, sunglasses beaming, skyline reflecting kind of music. I can't help but think that at some moments the track feels a little too loungy, but it feels all better again when the crescendo surfaces and my head begins to bob up and down.

So after spending literally an entire day at court (public drinking- St. Patrick's Day, I mean c'mon!) I decided to go music shopping. Right about now, I feel, is the time when all the fun shit comes out. I mean we have Rex the Dog coming out with what are going to be yet another two amazing remixes- one for Röyksopp and a reunion remix for The Knife! And then, one of my many musical obsessions, Mr, Erlend Øye, is releasing his side project's, The Whitest Boy Alive's, first album next month. And then on top of it all Kitsuné is releasing Kitsuné Maison 2 in June!

And without further ado, I give the gifts of my own language:

Exchpopture: Lost and Found

Don't know much about them. But this one's on the original Kitsuné Maison and I totally love the camp of it all. It kind of reminds me of something that would have been on the Party Monster soundtrack- I don't care what you say, but I've always obsessed over that soundtrack. I'm such a gay.

On a similar electro 2001 scale, I present I-F, whose known more as Ferenc. This one's from his wesome Fucking Consumer 12". He's actually from The Hague, Holland and this particular song has always just made me just move like an alien. Naturally it's called:

I-F: Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass

Which brings me to this one, which I picked up off of Idol Tryouts: Ghostly International Vol. 1. Apparently it was released previously on the label on a post-electroclash compilation entitled Disco Nouveau: Addendum. I may not exactly know what I'm talking about with this one. Give it a shot.

Charles Manier: At the Bottle

So I grabbed the new Alex Smoke, Paradolia, today. It totally got me by surprise. I just didn't even really notice that it was about to come and upon seeing it so neatly displayed...of course I had to get it. The first track's from his previous album, Incommunicado, and was the first Smoke song to grab me and hold me mentally sedative in all the good ways. His style of minimal house music has a voice of its own that's morbidly sweet yet brilliantly melancholic at the same time. The second track is jut a brilliant piece from Paradolia.

Alex Smoke: No Consequence

Alex Smoke: We Like It Insipid

And finally Dj T. from Get Physical. I painfully forgot my Boogie-Playground visting my best friend Eric, in Baltimore. So I bought the Cd because it had three additional tracks than the vinyl copy.

DJ T.: Rave d'Amour

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I actually spent my New Year's this past January with the guy on the right.

There I was dancing up and down, sweat flying everywhere, my boots a'tapping, beer a'swiggin', the records a'spinnin'. He's seriouly fucking amazing, I mean if this music doesn't make you want to dance, then you honestly should die. Seriously.

His name's Rex the Dog and he's an electro-star guaranteed to make your paws move. Oh Kompakt...

Oh,The Knife...

"The Swedish brother-and-sister duo work mostly on their own in splendid isolation; they release music on their own label, licensing it to selected partners around the world, so they have to answer to no one" (theknife.net).

And they're just another one of my electro-pop obsessions....

The Knife: Marble House

This one's from their most recent album, SILENT SHOUT. They're touring Europe right now. I'd die to see them live. They have an amazing awesome visual style.

I'm trying this whole musicblog thing out. I like my music. I'm sure others will too.
So here it goes.

First track up is from the mysterious Popular Computer, "I Can't Forget You." Works with Kitsune, only has three songs out, and in addition a remix for Mylo. He's French and fabulous. 'Tis all.

Popular Computer: I Can't Forget You

PS: The 12" has a Gildas & Masaya Edit and a Mr. Fingers remix, not to mention the track's spin off, "I Can Do Without You".

FRRRNANDO!
